What is nutritional therapy?

Nutritional therapy uses up to date nutrition science, combined with coaching and behavioral approaches to maximise wellbeing and alleviate ill health. It recognises that we differ in our biochemical make up, nutrient requirements, and our reactions to different foods. Nutritional therapy aims to tailor dietary recommendations specifically to individual needs and takes into account genetic predisposition and influences on health throughout life, as well as current diet and symptoms. Nutritional therapy supports you in putting suggestions into practice, in ways that work for you.

Laboratory testing
Through Valley Nutrition you can access Laboratory Testing. This can be very helpful in identifying imbalances in functioning, which may be contributing to present symptoms.
Commonly used tests include:-

  • Food allergy/intolerance testing

  • Tests of digestive health

  • Hormonal profiles

  • Metabolic function tests

  • Tests of nutrient deficiency

  • Supplements
Vitamin and mineral supplements and herbal products can be very useful in improving some conditions, however it is possible to do more harm than good with supplements. At Valley Nutrition your safety is the first priority, so all recommendations are carefully checked to avoid overdose or drug interactions. No commission is made on supplement sales, so you can be sure that recommendations are based on need alone.
